ARRIVAL.

Our campsite is situated on a high plateau above the Adige Valley, accessible via two routes from the MeBo (Merano-Bolzano motorway). The route from the Vilpiano/Nalles exit is shorter when coming from Bolzano, but it includes a winding road and leads thorugh the historic village of Prissiano – therefore it is only suitable for small vehicles. Guests with campers or motorhomes should take the Lana/Merano/Sinigo exit and follow the Strada Statale delle Palade/Gampenstraße road to Tesimo. We wish you a safe journey!

 

 

ARRIVAL – ARRIVAL TIMES.

Your booked pitch will be available from 12:00 pm, and the Pool Houses ‘Solterra’ from 2:00 pm. Reception is open throughout the day. If you expect to arrive after 6:00 pm, please contact us to ensure we can hold your booking and provide instructions for a late check-in. Phone +39 0473 927131.

 

ARRIVAL – CHECK-IN.

Welcome to your holiday! You’re just a few steps away from your welcome aperitif, a refreshing dip in the pool, and some well-deserved relaxation. Briefly park your car in the designated check-in car area and walk 30 metres along the road outside the campsite. You will be personally greeted at our main entrance for check-in.

 

ARRIVAL WITHOUT BOOKING.

The spontaneity of travel, the feeling of freedom, and the desire to follow your impulses are aspects we all love about camping. However, in recent years, we have found that early planning offers many advantages for both travellers and hosts. Therefore, we kindly ask you to avoid spontaneous arrivals, especially around public holidays and during the summer months. Please contact us briefly before travelling to Tesimo, either by phone or e-mail. This simple step not only helps to ease traffic in our historic villages but also saves you valuable time. Our goal is to maintain the relaxed atmosphere of our campsite even during peak times and to make every stay as pleasant as possible from the moment you arrive.

FORECOURT CAR PARKS.

Due to limited parking facilities, which are especially busy during holiday periods and weekends, we cannot accept reservations for overnight stays in our forecourt car parks. Our camping guests can park there – also for legal reasons – only in exceptional cases, for a maximum of a few hours or one night, and without setting up any camping equipment.

 

ATMOSPHERE.

Nestled on the peaceful outskirts of Tesimo, our family-run campsite with fewer than 100 pitches offers a serene and welcoming atmosphere. The tranquillity of the morning and evening hours seamlessly blends with the lively energy of a summer afternoon by the pool. Here, the deep connection to the mountains and South Tyrolean culture meets Mediterranean flair, fragrant lemons, lightness and Dolce Vita. A sense of style and quality harmonizes with the simple pleasures of camping life. Camping Tisens is a haven for individualists and connoisseurs who embrace their holiday with a relaxed and positive mindset, who love to explore the country and its people, savor the moment, and appreciate the beauty of each instant, just like we do.

 

ACCESSIBILITY.

Most of our facility is step-free and accessible. We have a barrier-free pool, though it is not equipped with special access aids. However, our pool attendants are happy to assist you according to your individual needs. The surrounding area offers barrier-free walking paths, but being in a hilly low mountain landscape, wheelchair users are advised to bring an electric wheelchair or an electric hoist. BIKE.

The hilly landscape surrounding our campsite offers beautiful tours on secluded forest trails, perfect for mountain bikers and e-bikers. For guests who prefer to cover longer distances on the flat terrain of the Adige Valley, we offer a comfortable, free Bike Transfer service from May to October. Directly biking into the valley involves busy roads or a forest path and is recommended only for experienced and athletic cyclists.

 

CAFÈ.

From Tuesday to Sunday, our daytime Café offers refreshing drinks and aperitifs, cool beers and fine wines, Italian ice cream, small hot snacks, and homemade cakes or pastries from a South Tyrolean confectioner.

 

BREAKFAST & BREAD ROLLS.

From Tuesday to Sunday, we offer fresh bread rolls from a local quality bakery (no pre-ordering), fair trade coffee from the South Tyrolean roastery Caroma, a small selection of regional quality products to take away, and a breakfast menu to enjoy on-site in our daytime Café & Shop from 8:00 am. Additionally, from Monday to Saturday, the local bakery and a small general store in Tesimo (300 metres away on foot) are available.

 

HOST FAMILY.

The Arquin Rieder host family includes style icon and senior manager Burgi, who opened the campsite with her husband Willi and continues to work on-site daily; their daughter Stefanie, who tirelessly manages all areas of the family business with the support of her partner Christian; and baby Alex, who completes the family with Christian’s roguish smile and Stefanie’s balanced approach. They are joined by a team of wonderful personalities who form the heart and character of the campsite.

 

GUEST PASS.

At check-in, all our guests receive the South Tyrol Guest Pass, allowing they to use South Tyrol’s public transport free of charge. For timetables, visit suedtirolmobil.info. There is an hourly bus service from Tesimo central square to Lana bus station, where you can transfer to Merano, and to Vilpiano railway station, where you can transfer to Bolzano.

 

DOGS.

Your well-behaved four-legged friend is very welcome at our campsite. There are beautiful walking routes around the campsite, and a dog shower is available on-site. To ensure harmonious coexistence, we ask all dog owners to observe the following guidelines: Keep your dog on a lead at all times while on the grounds. Dogs are not permitted in the pool area or at Willi’s Beach. The neighboring orchards are carefully tended by farmers, so please always use dog waste bags.

 

KIDS & FAMILY.

Families and children have a wonderful time at our campsite every year, enjoying a holiday close to nature on the sunny plateau of Tesimo. The region offers numerous beautiful hiking and excursion opportunities for all ages. Please note that our campsite does not offer a specialized family concept. We particularly cater to families who appreciate the mountains and relaxation without the need for additional facilities such as children’s entertainment or water slides.

 

LIDO.

Long before our campsite was built, the Tesimo open-air swimming pool occupied this site in the 1960s and 1970s. Some surviving photos still capture the fun of those past bathing days. When our family began planning the new campsite on the long-disused Lido site in the 2000s, the municipality had a special request: the pools should be made accessible to the people of Tesimo again, making the site a valuable recreational area for everyone.
We were, and still are, happy to fulfill this request, as we firmly believe that authentic, high-quality holidays are created through the harmonious interaction of guests and locals.

 

MOBILITY.

Exploring the region – Many walks, hikes, and excursions can be started directly from the campsite. Smaller shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Buses from Tesimo offer stress-free daily trips to Merano, Bolzano, and other nearby destinations. For individual travel, you can rent a car or use the taxi service. The Bike Transfer service conveniently shuttles cyclists between Tesimo and Lana. Rental bikes are available in Nalles, Lana, and Merano.

 

SUSTAINABILITY & WATER

As hosts and entrepreneurs, we believe we share the responsibility for promoting sustainable and future-oriented holidays. We have already implemented several changes, with more to come. One of our most pressing concerns is water, as dry periods are becoming increasingly common in our municipality. We kindly ask all guests to use water thoughtfully – enjoy it as refreshment in the pool, as clear drinking water from all taps, and as cleansing water in the showers and washrooms, but please avoid wasting it.

New for 2024: We offer high-quality thermo drinking bottles in an elegant Camping Tisens design in our Shop. Once purchased, these can be filled throughout your holiday and beyond. Consequently, we will no longer sell water in plastic bottles.

 

RESTAURANT.

From Tuesday to Sunday, between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, and between 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm, we spoil our guests with fine Italian cuisine and authentic South Tyrolean classic. Reservations are recommended.

 

SANITARY & SERVICE FACILITIES

Our campsite features modern sanitary facilities that are cleaned multiple times a day. Cleanliness is our top priority in all areas. We offer a barrier-free bathroom for guests with special needs, and private hire bathrooms can be booked. Additionally, we provide common facilities such as a dishwashing room, washing machine and tumble dryer (for a fee), a recycling and waste station, a grey water disposal station, and a dog shower.

 

SHOP & SHOPPING FACILITIES.

Our small Shop, offering a selection of quality products, is open from Tuesday to Sunday. In the nearby village center of Tesimo (300 m), you’ll find a bakery and a small general store for your daily needs. Larger supermarkets are located in Lana, easily reachable by car or bus (15 minutes). The picturesque arcades and pedestrian zones, as well as the famous weekly markets in Merano and Bolzano, are just 20-30 minutes away by car, making your shopping experience delightful thanks to our campsite’s central location.

 

POOLS.

Set against the backdrop of an extensive sunbathing lawn and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, our campsite features three pools. These include a 25-metre-long swimming pool for laps and splashing around, a separate pool non-swimmers, and a shallow children’s pool. The pools are environmentally heated using photovoltaics and are open from April to October, weather permitting. Our guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pools from early morning until evening.

 

HIKING & LEISURE TIME.

Idyllically situated in the low mountain range amidst orchards and hills, our campsite in Tesimo offers many hiking opportunities and themed trails. Its central location above the Adige Valley also allows for easy excursions to Merano, Bolzano, and the surrounding region, rich with cultural treasures and leisure activities.

 

WILLI’S BEACH.

A sandy beach in the mountains with panoramic views – Reopened in 2023, Willi’s Beach offers guests a serene spot for sunbathing and reading in an elevated position. Free access is available for camping guests. Adults only 16+.

DEPARTURE – DEPARTURE TIMES.

On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate your pitch by 12:00 pm. Departures are possible from 7:00 am, with the gate opening automatically.

For early departures before 7:00 am, we ask that you vacate your pitch by 10:00 pm the evening before, by prior arrangement, and park your motorhome on our forecourt car park (with power connection and access to the entire facility).

Would you like to stay longer and leave after 12:00 pm?

Unfortunately, this is only possible to a limited extent and outside peak times. During public holidays, the summer months and weekends when the campsite is fully booked, we strive to offer all guests a smooth transition. This is often only achievable if the specified times are adhered to. Please contact our Reception, and we will do our best to find a solution. Please note that a fee will be charged for extended use of the facility on the day of departure.

 

DEPARTURE – CHECK-OUT.

Reception is open for check-out from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

We accept cash payments as well as card payments (EC, Visa, Mastercard, American Express). If you plan to leave before 9:00 a.m., please check out the day before.
